Philadelphia, PA's Wachovia Spectrum was completed in 1967 at a cost of $7 million to be an indoor arena for the basketball, hockey, arena football, indoor soccer and lacrosse.  On June 19, 1974, the Flyers won their first Stanley Cup in the arena after defeating the Boston Bruins.  Additionally the NBA Finals, NHL and NBA All-Star Games, Big Five basketball games, Atlantic Ten Conference Tournaments and others, an occasional high-profile Villanova University basketball game and WWF professional wrestling exhibitions were all held at the Spectrum.

Many rock concerts were staged at the Spectrum including The Doors, The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, and The Who, just to name a few.  The statue of Sylvester Stallone, in his role as boxer Rocky Balboa, stood in front of the Spectrum for many years and was the site in the movie of the first and second fights with Apollo Creed.  Following the 2008-2009 soccer and hockey seasons, the Spectrum will be demolished to make way for a new hotel as part of the Philly Live! complex.
