Independence Hall can be considered the birthplace of the
United States as it was within those walls where the Declaration
of Independence was adopted in 1776 and the U.S. Constitution,
starting with "We the people of the United States", was drafted
and signed. The Liberty Bell, tradition tells us, chimed from
the tower of Independence Hall when the Declaration of
Independence was first publicly read and was last heard ringing
on George Washington's birthday in 1846.
Christ Church, one of America's most historic shrines, was the worship
site of George Washington, Betsy Ross and Benjamin Franklin. Betsy Ross was
asked to make the first U.S. flag by a secret committee of the Continental
Congress comprised of George Washington, Robert Morris and George Ross.
Benjamin Franklin is the 18th century's most illustrious Pennsylvanian and
one of the founding fathers of the United States.
This ornament is a wonderful keepsake to remember your visit
to Historic Philadelphia - and a great gift for every patriot
and history buff.
