The Court House in the city of Pittsburgh is located on Grant Street between Fifth Avenue and Diamond Street.  Henry Hobson Richardson, an architect from Boston, designed the Court House with construction beginning in 1884 and completion in 1886 after his death.  The Court House features an interior courtyard and is connected to the former prison by a large arch known as the Bridge of Sighs.

It is built of large granite blocks with the windows and entrance ways each topped with wide arches.  The Allegheny County Court House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 7, 1973, and its design has influenced many buildings across America over the years.

Pittsburghers will love this commemorative ornament of Allegheny County Courthouse.
