The Joseph Horne's Department Store in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, was well known for its Christmas tree lighting
ceremony each year as well as their beautifully decorated
windows. Even though the store has closed and the building now
houses office space, the Pittsburgh tradition of that Christmas
tree adorning the side of the building on the corner of Penn
Avenue and Stanwix Street has continued.
Horne's Tree is now a focal point of the annual Light-Up Night
celebrations in Pittsburgh usually held the Friday evening
before Thanksgiving to kick off the Christmas shopping season.
The Horne's Christmas tree is a long-time tradition in
Pittsburgh. All natives of Western PA will love this
keepsake ornament.
