Operation Iraqi Freedom is a conflict that started on March
20, 2003, in Iraq. The United States, Great Britain, Australia,
Denmark, Poland and other coalition forces invaded Iraq to
remove Saddam Hussein and his Baath Party from power and to stop
the development of weapons of mass destruction. After the
invasion those weapons were not found but they were successful
in defeating Saddam Hussein.
Hussein was eventually executed for his crimes against his own people. A
new democratic government was established and is struggling to be successful
as there is much unrest in the country. The war has been extremely
controversial. The coalition forces continue to help the Iraqi government
in their goal to have a long-lasting democracy.
Honor both the veterans and those who died during the first
Persian Gulf war with this keepsake ornament.
