Native to Asia, the tiger is an endangered species and less
live in the wild as in captivity where they breed very well.
When in their natural habitat, tigers are very territorial and
their territory is determined by the abundance of prey and
access to females. Two male tigers do not tolerate other makes
in their territory. Tigers prefer dense vegetation which aids
in camouflaging them and are often found bathing in lakes,
rivers and ponds. The brown to pure black stripes over the
rusty-brown coats are unique to each tiger, much like our
fingerprints are to us.
Tigers are the heaviest cats found in the wild and they feed mostly on
medium to large-size animals. Tigers prefer to hunt alone and their sharp
teeth and strong jaws combined with their ability to leap as high as 16 feet
and as far as 30-33 feet make them hard to escape. The destruction of their
habitat and poaching for fur have dramatically reduced their numbers in the
wild.
Buy this keepsake ornament for a unique gift for any tiger
collector.
