Niagara Falls is made up of three falls
-- the American and the Bridal Veil Falls on the U.S.
side and the Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side.
The Niagara River leads to the Niagara Falls which are
the second largest falls in the world.
The falls attract approximately 12 million visitors each
year who come to view for themselves their beauty and might.
Much of the water at the falls today is fed to nearby
hydro-electric power stations via underground channels and
pipes.
Some evenings the falls are illuminated with colored lights which add a
different dimension to the beautiful falls.
The oldest attraction at the falls is the "Maid of the Mist" boat
cruise; another attraction is the "Spanish Aero Car" which goes over the
Whirlpool. Over the years many
daredevils have tried to go over the falls in a barrel; the first person to
do so and survive was a 63-year-old female schoolteacher in 1901.
Others have crossed over the falls via tightropes.
This ornament is a wonderful keepsake to remember your visit to Niagara
Falls - and a great gift for every collector of Niagara memorabilia.
