Three Rivers Stadium was the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates
and the Pittsburgh Steelers for 30 years starting in 1970.
Three Rivers has a rich history in sports with Franco Harris
making his Immaculate Reception of a pass from Terry Bradshaw
against the Oakland Raiders to Roberto Clemente hitting his
3,000th major league hit smacking the outfield wall.
For many Pittsburgh sports fans on the chilly morning of
February 11, 2001, the demolition of Three Rivers Stadium was a
bittersweet day. Three Rivers held many good memories for them
but they also looked forward to a bright future at both PNC Park
and Heinz Field where more memories would be made.
Pittsburgh Pirate fans and Steeler fans will love this
commemorative ornament of Three Rivers Stadium.
