Carousel No. 83, built in 1930, was the last carousel to be
built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company (PTC).
Originally located on an Atlantic City pier, the elaborately
carved carousel was moved to Idlewild Park in Ligonier, PA, in
1931.
This National Historic Landmark boasts 48 horses and
2 chariots, each one carved of solid wood as well as a carved
crown and antique paintings all located in a carousel building
built by T. M. Harton. Three of the horses display the
special PTC lettering as part of their ornate design.
This
gem of a carousel has brought both young and old much delight
over many years and will continue to do so well into the future.
Our Idlewild Park Carousel Ornament is a great keepsake of
happy times spent at Idlewild Park. Order this ornament
for fans of Idlewild Park and also an ideal gift for carousel
collectors.
